The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, fiends, and dark forces increasing in influence within the city.

Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each character has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could help the group reach areas they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:

  • The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The target is wanted dead by the family.

This means them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Explorers and Schemers parties.

Fans can anticipate discovering which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
